Blind Man Morris
How to Use This Calculator
The easiest way to work out your Morris Minor's fuel economy is to start with a full tank and make a note of the mileage on the odometer. Then use your Morris Minor as intended – whether that's a trip to the shops, a run to a rally, or an adventure down roads that probably weren't designed for modern traffic.
-
The next time you fill up, make a note of how many litres of petrol it takes to refill the tank and record the new mileage.
-
Subtract the first mileage reading from the second to find out how many miles you've travelled, then enter that figure into the Miles Travelled box.
-
Enter the number of litres you've added into the Litres Added box and let the calculator do the hard work.
-
For the most accurate results, try to cover at least 100 miles between fill-ups and fill the tank to roughly the same level each time.
Don't worry too much if your figure isn't exactly what you expected—fuel economy can vary depending on driving style, road conditions, weather, how much luggage you're carrying, and whether you're driving up in the Mountains of Wales or through the Norfolk Broads.
After all, Morris Minors were built for smiles per gallon as much as miles per gallon.
